One of the popular, veteran distributor-exhibitor Tirupur Subramaniam has opened up about Superstar Rajinikanth, and has revealed in a recent interview that Rajini was the first Tamil hero to act in a film without salary.

Rajnikanth acted in the movie Velaikkaran without taking any remuneration as the same Kavithalaya Productions had produced his 100th movie Sri Raghavendrar, which wasn’t a successful movie.

Tirupur Subramaniam also said that Rajini was generous during the release of Baba which didn’t perform well at the box office, and immediately after returning from abroad, he asked Subramaniam about the details of people who incurred loss, and asked his help to resolve the issue, adding that Rajnikanth was the first star to come up with such an initiative.
