Indian TV actress Divyanka Tripathi Dahiya, who rose to fame following her role in the popular show 'Ye Hai Mohabbatein,' has opened up about the hurdles she has had to face during her initial years in the television industry.

Divyanka mentioned in her interview with ETimes that some men in the industry have made inappropriate remarks and proposed to her in an indecent manner but that she didn't let it affect her career. "In my initial days of career I had received indecent proposals from men in the industry. Some try to ruin the image in the industry if you say no. But not all men in the industry are same. There are some bad experiences. Some men make inappropriate remarks and the irony is that they still want to be respected. There have been ups and downs. There was the beginning phase when I was like almost tortured. But when I think of it today, I am thankful. Every bit of pressure that I got, every bit of frustration that I went through, has shaped me up today. Only when you will embrace your past experience, you will feel powerful. You feel that you deserve to be in the place where you are today."

The actress also added that she decided to leave a show after the maker made an indecent pass at her. "I knew that I wanted to do good work, but not at the cost of my dignity. In fact, I left a show. I won't name the person, producer or the channel. I had signed a show, and the maker made a pass at me. He was very indecent. I left the show because of that. I knew that it would be a traumatic experience for me because any daily soap continues for a certain number of months or years, and I couldn't see myself in that kind of a situation," she was quoted as saying.
