The prominence taken by the actor should have been given to the subject with more interesting depth in screenplay. Director and actor Prem has just taken scope and it is a wafer thin subject with very less entertainment values. It is a vociferous film.

DK is a clash between risky man Rame Gowda (DK – played by Prem) and Keerthana alas Subbulakshmi (Chytra Chandranath). The war of words and discontentment finally leads to something good. The cajoling of Nityananda Swamy and village chieftain thirst for having girl child looks so insensitive. With great singer of this country MS Subbu Lakshmi photo and song in the bedroom, the village heads gets female child. He names her as Subbulakshmi.

Making noise in every scene and moving around his battalion DK also has good heart for the needy and deserving. His clash with Keerthana – the so called five minutes love turns permanent. It goes to the extent of Keerthana contesting against her father in the election. The baffled village chieftain Shive Gowda (Sharat Lohitashva) and his rival Bisleri Kumara (Shobaraj) finally compromise with the development.

From director Prem as an actor too much was expected. That is because Prem as director handled big stars in the past. When he is seen on silver screen as hero expectation is obvious. He disappointed in ‘Prem Adda’ and his first film as hero ‘Preethi Eke Bhumi Melidhe’ was also disastrous. Prem is not like regular hero and while taking such scope he should deliver. That has not happened in DK.

The stuff to keep the film in long innings at the box office is not found. Nothing appreciable comes out from this film with director Vijay Hampali handling direction.

The good choice of this film is Chytra Chandranath. She has the screen presence, emotes well, dialogue given to her is like typical Manjula of yesteryears Kannada cinema.

Arjun Janya has given a few peppy tunes and one of the melodious songs is well shot on Prem and Chytra Chandranath. Cinematographer Anand has showed his skill in a few shots.

The hullaballoo for Sunny Leone item song is so weak and not a scoring point of the film. Prem claims as ‘Show Man’ from this film. He has a long way to prove the claim he makes.

Score – 5/10
