Dowry harrassment: Young techie arrested for torturing and starving his wife

A young techie has been arrested in Kerala for allegedly attacking his wife and her father over dowry demand. The accused identified as Jipson, while his parents are also booked in the case. According to the woman's complaint, Jipson and his family brutally assaulted and mentally tortured her demanding more gold.
As per the complaint, her husband and in-laws physically assaulted her and denied food to her. She was thrown out of the house when she ate food without permission. When the woman's father enquired about the assaults and tried to solve the matter, Jipson manhandled him breaking his legs and ribs. Though she filed a complaint, the police did not act on her complaint of dowry harassment. The harassment faced by the 31-year-old comes at a time when multiple dowry-related deaths have jolted the state.
