Dr. Gurava Reddy clears doubts of Chiru, SPB, Nani & others

Recently, Dr Gurava Reddy's video on why social distancing is a must to contain the spread of coronavirus went viral across India.  The renowned doctor has done one more video to dispel all the myths surrounding COVID1-19.  This time, some of the biggest celebs have joined him.  Megastar Chiranjeevi, SS Rajamouli, SP Balasubramaniam, Trivikram Srinivas, Nani, Rana Daggubati, VVS Laxman, PV Sindhu and others participated in the video interaction, asking Reddy questions related to COVID-19.

SPB asks whether those suffering from sore throat should worry.  "Sore throat and common cold needn't worry you by themselves.  If they persist for days, you will have to go for a test," the doctor replies.

Nani and Rana ask him whether it's true that the less harmful strain of COVID-19 is propagating in India unlike in Italy and the US.  "A research study does say that the less harmful strain of the virus (L and S strains are in existence) is propagating in India.  It's also said that a particular gene in Indians is ably fighting the virus," the doctor answers.

"Some studies say that the hot weather is of help.  Nothing is conclusive as of now," the doctor affirms.

Rajamouli asks how people have to cope up with the loneliness the ongoing lockdown has brought in its wake.  "Loneliness is definitely causing much mental trauma in many.  But this shouldn't be an excuse to disobey social distancing rules.  Don't step out and don't meet even your neighbour," the doctor says.

"Those of you who are showing signs of depression, please do consult a doctor.  Engage yourself by reading up books, listening to music, etc," he adds.

Chiranjeevi asks, "What might be the extent of spread in India?  Is it true that the summer temperature is helping Indians?  Will there be a second wave in winter? I read that Wuhan in China has flattened its curve.  It's a ray of hope.  Is it all true?"

The doctor answers, "Nobody but God can tell you when this will end.  With the development of genome science, genetic engineering, AI, etc., I hope we can really see this coming to an end.  India may take another two months to fight it."
