A drunk man began to drive a government bus when the driver and conductor deboarded to take a break. The incident took place on Saturday night when the bus which was going from Tirunelveli and Thisaiyanvilai had stopped at the latter bus stand. When the bus suddenly started moving, everyone was shocked. Then thankfully, the vehicle stopped after travelling a short distance.

Behind the wheels was Jeyakumar, an intoxicated lorry driver aged 50 years. He was caught and beaten by the people. No case was registered as there was no damage done to the bus. He was let off with a warning from the police. Out of all the possible mishaps that are possible in public transport, this seems to be unprecedented. The incident indicates the importance of being careful with vehicles and not leaving the keys behind.
