Elon Musk to appoint new Twitter CEO to replace Parag Agrawal: Report

Elon Musk has apparently lined up a new Chief Executive Officer (CEO) for Twitter who will replace Indian-origin tech executive Parag Agrawal as soon as the $44 billion-sale of the social networking site is complete, a source was quoted as saying by Reuters.

It has also been reported that Elon Musk, who is currently the CEO of Tesla and SpaceX, might temporarily take over as the CEO of Twitter as well. However, there hasn’t been any official announcement confirming the same. As per research firm Equilar’s report, Parag Agrawal, who took over as the CEO of Twitter five months ago, would get an estimated $42 million if he were to be terminated within 12 months of a change in control at the company.

In one of the biggest takeovers in the history of tech world, world’s richest man Elon Musk acquired Twitter for $44 billion with shares valued at $54.20, making the social media giant now a privately held company. After finalizing the deal with Musk, Parag Agrawal said, “Twitter has a purpose and relevance that impacts the entire world. Deeply proud of our teams and inspired by the work that has never been more important.”
