The Hindi film ‘Emergency’ is based on the state of emergency imposed during former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi’s rule. Kangana Ranaut played the role of Indira Gandhi, directed the film, and co-produced it with Zee Studios. The movie’s music was composed by G.V. Prakash. Released in January, the film is now available on the Netflix OTT platform.

After watching the film, a fan remarked, “What a movie! This should be India’s entry for the Oscars.” Kangana Ranaut shared this comment on her Instagram and responded, “America does not want to acknowledge its true face and how it oppresses and suppresses developing nations. ‘Emergency’ exposes that reality. So, let them keep their ridiculous Oscars. We have our National Awards.”
