England ,The hosts of the 2019 cricket World cup ,Have announced thier squad for the mega event .

As of now , England has become the fifth team to announce the 15 member squad .New Zealand ,Australia ,India and Bangladesh are the other four nations . The cut off date for the announcement of the 15 men squad is April 30th .

The preliminary squad

England ,A team which has evolved into a team with strong batting ability after the shocking first round exit in the 2015 edition of the world cup ,Promises lots of entertainment as well as quality in batting from the likes of Jonny Bairstow ,Jos Butler ,Eoin Morgan and Joe Root .

Time will tell if Eoin Morgan's captaincy plus batting skills ,Could take them into a world cup final ,Post the one they lost to Pakistan in 1992 . Their other appearances in a final ,Happenned in the 1987 edition ,The first ever 50 over version of the world cup ,and in only the second ever edition of the world cup , A 60 over affair , Which England had hosted .

The form of heavyweight all - rounder Ben Stokes is on and off at the moment ,Although he could be as dangerous as devil on a given day 

Having spinners Adil Rashid and Moeen Ali ,Who have shown consistency over the years ,Would be a huge morale boost for England ,While lack of stability in pace battery would be as big a worry for the team and its fans ! This was very clearly visible in the previous series against the Windies in the Caribbean .

Joe Deley has been picked as a "Batsman who can bowl spin ". Joffra Archer and Sam Curran are somehow left out from this squad ,Although they can be added in the squad after the series against Pakistan ,Which precedes the world cup .

Archer has an English father, and British passport, but initially was not eligible to play for England until the winter of 2022. The England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) rules stated that as he did not live in England until after his 18th birthday, he needed to complete a seven year residency period. Archer played for West Indies Under-19s three times in 2014 but has signalled his intention to make himself available to England once his residency period was complete.

However, in November 2018, the ECB announced a change to its rules, reducing the eligibility period from seven years to three to bring it into line with ICC regulations.
