Shankar wins Enthiran plagiarism case - Court fines petitioner

The 'Enthiran' plagiarism case filed against director Shankar and producer Kalanithi Maran has come to an end with the court ruling in favour of the defendants. He also ordered Arur Tamil Nadan who demanded rupees thirty one crores as compensation to pay the costs of the case.

'Enthiran' produced by Sun Pictures with A.R. Rahman's music had Superstar Rajinikanth and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan as the lead pair with Danny Denzogpa as the main villaiin. Rajini played dual roles of a scientist Vaseegaran and the Robot Chitti he creates who turns from good to bad due to the machinations of the villain.
