Venkatesh's 'F3' hits the screens on May 27. In this interview, the senior actor says that he enjoys playing comedy roles.

Besides throwing light on 'F3', Venkatesh also talks about 'Rana Naidu', yet-to-be-planned projects with two major banners, whether he will be doing a reality show, and more.

Anil Ravipudi feels that you have done 'F3' as if it were your first movie. Your comments?

I always regard every movie of mine as my debut venture. I work hard with a newcomer's mindset. I don't carry the baggage of my stardom and image. This holds true more for comedy entertainers like 'F3'. My flow and timing have to be natural. I followed this for 'Intlo Illalu Vantintlo Priyuralu', 'Abbayi Garu', 'Nuvvu Naku Nacchav' and 'Malleeswari'. I have followed the same principle while doing 'F3'. I don't think too much while doing comedies. I enjoy playing my character.

After serious movies like 'Narappa' and 'Drishyam 2', how was it like doing 'F3'?

Those two movies had to be released directly on OTT. I am happy that 'F3' is a theatrical release. I am energized while doing comedies. I feel like I have gone back to my college days. I am naturally jovial with others. I realize that the audience like to see a jovial Venkatesh on the screen. Families have a kick when they watch comedies in theatres.

How does 'F3' compare with 'F2'?

In terms of entertainment, it is superior. It's way more hilarious. But if you want me to talk about the commercial success, I won't do it. Coming to my performance, I go by the script. I have tried to give a 'double dose' in 'F3' through my acting. I am a spontaneous actor who doesn't plan things.

What is your take on the theme of 'F3' that greed is not ideal?

It's a natural human tendency to go after money, to dream big and to want to expand opportunities. We are all greedy in different ways. And greed brings in its wake problems. We learn lessons eventually. Those experiences and lessons change us. If we don't mend our ways, we will get into more trouble in the future.

How was it working with Anil Ravipudi for the second time?

Anil is a simple person who knows how to get the best from his actors. He is an amazing writer. His dialogues sound natural. Thanks to that, the actors deliver a realistic performance. Anil is quite energetic. I and him are quite crazy. I have known Anil since the days of 'Masala'. I like his clarity of thought and amazing comic timing.

Who do you get inspired by to do comedy?

Right from childhood, I have been a keen observer. When I travel or go out, I observe the expressions and body language of people. Then there are comedy actors from whom you learn a lot.

While you are a spontaneous actor, do you believe in improvements?

Improvization is to be expected. Your voice can be funny. Look at how Allu Ramalingaiah garu played with his voice to tickle the funny bone. The same goes for Johnny Lever.

Do you attach significance to money?

Everyone wants money. And we all have to work hard to make money. Nature gives us what we want. There is no point in hankering after what is no ours.

What is the status of your Netflix project 'Rana Naidu' with Rana Daggubati?

The series is shaping up wonderfully. I have played a unique role in it.

How has it been to team up with Dil Raju for the third time?

I have known him for many years. I noticed some spark in him during the making of 'Preminchukundam Raa'. He knows how to dissect a movie. He is a passionate producer.

You did a two-hero movie in the form of 'Seethamma Vakitlo Sirimalle Chettu' already. Are you open to doing multi-starrers in today's times?

If the story is good, I am game for it.

Do you believe in the commercial success of your movies?

Every movie is made to ensure that it becomes a hit. Without bothering much about the range of success, I sincerely wish that my producer recovers his investment. I extend my fullest cooperation to my producer. I don't like it when my film's budget goes up.

Have you ever wished to host a reality show?

I have been approached for quite a few TV shows. But I have an issue with hosting a reality show. I can't repeat the same expression and dialogue.

When are you going to launch your son into films?

He is still studying. I have no plans to launch him as of now.

If you are approached for your father's biopic, will you do it?

It will be good if I act in my father's biopic. But the script must be great. Not everything you wish for happens. I have been wanting to do a Swami Vivekananda biopic. It hasn't worked out.

What are your upcoming feature films?

I have been signed up by Sithara Entertainments and Mythri Movie Makers. No script has been finalized so far.
