In a surprising move, FEFSI (Film Employees Federation of South India) Chairman RK Selvamani has announced that the organization will no longer support films produced by members of the Tamil Film Producers’ Council (TFPC) starting April 8. The decision has sparked tension and debate within the film industry.

This development comes in the wake of a recent dispute involving actor Dhanush, who alleged that a production house failed to begin work on a project despite receiving an advance payment. Following this, RK Selvamani issued a statement addressing the complaint, which was later countered by a response from the production company, 5 Star Creations.

The controversy escalated when discussions emerged within the Producers’ Council about possibly forming a new organization to replace FEFSI. However, TFPC members opposed the idea and emphasized resolving the conflict through dialogue rather than division.

RK Selvamani, speaking on the matter, stated,

“There is no unity in the film industry. The government should step in and provide a solution to prevent further complications.”

He further confirmed that FEFSI would officially withdraw support from TFPC-related productions starting April 8.
