A film on the emergence of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS), head of the ‘Sangh Parivar’ organizations in the country including the ruling BJP at the Centre, the Bajrang Dal and the Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP), is to be made at a whopping cost of Rs.180 crores.  The film is likely to release early next year in theatres ahead of the general elections scheduled to be held across the country during April-May.

Said to be a film which would tell the whole world about the significance of RSS and its role in nation-building, the story and screenplay of film is to be scripted by Tollywood show-man S.S. Rajamouli’s father Vijayendra Prasad, who penned the scripts of his son’s colossal hit films Baahubali and Baahubali 2.  Prasad’s script is said to have been approved by RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat.

It turns out that Kannada audio baron Lahari Velu Thulasi Naidu, close to the BJP top brass in Karnataka, mooted the idea of making a film on RSS.  The idea reportedly struck Velu during one of his recent trips from Chennai to Bangalore.  He immediately alerted his manager to first choose an appropriate title for the film.  Velu would be among the many producers who would be jointly making this mega-venture.

“I and Prasad met Gurumurthy who is helping us with the script.  Prasad’s pre-script has been approved by RSS chief Bhagwat.  He has a team of 27 men working on it.  We are yet to choose the film’s director and other lead actors and technicians to work in the film,” says Velu, adding that they were happy that Bhagwat had approved the film’s script and given the go-ahead to make the film.

The film would be shot simultaneously in Tamil, Telugu and Hindi versions, it is learnt.  Zee TV baron Subhash Chandra and Raj Singh of Motion Pictures would be taking care of the film’s pre-release publicity, distribution and release in theatres.
