Popular singer arrested for song against PM Modi

Folk singer Kovan had already made news in the year 2015 when he sang a song that criticised the then Chief Minister Jayalalithaa. He was charged with sedition for his derogatory lyrics. Now again the popular singer had been arrested for a song that condemns Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

The singer was arrested in Trichy for his viral Rath Yatra song that talks about the Cauvery Management Board not being set up. Kovan has been booked under IPC sections 153a, section 503 and section 505(1b). It should be also noted that his song also had references like it would be the last rath yatra for Rama Rajya.
