Foreign cigarettes worth Rs 1 Crore seized in Hyderabad

As the weekend is here, a gang of inter-state foreign cigarette smugglers was making its actions active. Learning this, Task force police of Hyderabad have busted this racket and have arrested five persons.
Police have seized Rs 1 crore worth foreign cigarettes from the possession of the accused. Acting on the same, the North Zone team of Task Force have caught an auto trolley at Rishab Agency in Siddiambar Bazar and seized 503 cartons of illegally imported foreign cigarettes of various brands.
The auto has been obstructed from reaching its destination and the case is under investigation.
This is not the first time that cops have busted such rackets in Hyderabad but finding one in the times of pandemic also, makes us wonder what more is happening under the sheets in the city.
