Actor Simbu had last appeared in the Sundar C directed Vandhaa Rajavathaan Varuven also starring Megha Akash and Catherine Tresa, and had signed to act in a cameo in the 50th movie of Hansika titled Mahaa, and also in Gautham Karthik's next movie which is the remake of Kannada movie Mufti.

While the actor had been removed from Venkat Prabhu's Maanaadu after he had been the cause of the numerous delays in beginning the movie, Simbu had announced a movie named Maghaamaanaadu and had later went to Thailand. The actor had not turned up for the shooting of Gautham Karthik's movie as well, and producer Gnanavelraja was not able to reach Simbu.

Following this, producers Gnanavel Raja of Studio Green, Maanaadu Producer Suresh Kamatchi, Vinnai Thaandi Varuvaaya 2 producer Vijay Raghavendra and Screenscene owner Boomi Builders Sundar filed a complaint against Simbu in the producers council, and also lodged a forgery case in Chennai police commissioner's office yesterday. It is expected that if the commissioner takes necessary action, Simbu might be deported from Thailand officially.
