Just picture this. Police officers arrive at the residence of the former President of a country. They tell him they have got an arrest warrant. They tell him he might be guilty in a corruption scandal. The former leader tells the police officers that he will call up his lawyers before being arrested.

He goes into his bedroom. Moments later, the policemen are stunned upon hearing a gun shot. They forcibly go into the room. They find the former President dead in a sitting posture!

This would make for an exciting filmi scene. But what if we told you that such an incident has happened in the real world?

It has happened in the Latin American country of Peru. In the country's capital Lima, Peru's former President Alan Garcia (69) was found to have been involved in a huge scam. The investigators believe that he received kickbacks in a real estate project.

But Garcia didn't want to be put behind bars. Perhaps, he was too ashamed. He shot himself.
