Kamal Haasan's Vishwaroopam was supposed to be released today and be the film taking up the Republic Day weekend. The courts have other ideas, this film was ruled out of screening and this has caused an upheaval among theater owners.
So, Friday, there is a release. Vivek's low budget Tamil film releasing today is Pathaayiram Kodi. Hindi has a big movie in hand for today, Race 2 and two more simpler films Main Krishna Hoon and Akaash Vani. Malayalam cinema is letting out the Mammootty and Dileep starring Kammath and Kammath for which Dhanush appears in a cameo role and also a fresh team's release, Nee Ko Njaa Chaa. The lack of big releases also mean that the Pongal releases Kanna Laddu Thinna Aasaiya and Samar have more time to breathe easy and collect bigger.
