From Subramaniapuram to Ananthapuram

The journey has been so long indeed. Felicitated as the yearÂs ÂBest Path Breaking Film by Maathru Bhoomi Publications, the film has reached towards the farthest ends bounded with appreciations. Director Sasi Kumar who produced and released the film ÂSubramaniapuram wouldnÂt have expected such glorious honors.
Earlier, TeluguÂs leading producers had talks with Sasi Kumar in remaking ÂSubramaniapuram in Telugu. Perhaps, there were few barriers while penning the polished version to suit Telugu style. ÂShifting the locations of 1980 and cultural adjustments werenÂt really a good idea of savoring to the tastes of Tollywood audiences said one of the closest sources.
Finally, producers backed off from remaking and instead dubbed it. The Telugu version is now titled as ÂAnanthapuram 1980Â. As Swathi haps to be a famous actress in town, producers are expecting good results for the film.
