Another new director has added to the list of talented commercial directors in Kannada filmdom. That is S Krishna ace cameraman of Kannada cinema turning director from a convincing and entertaining commercial package via `Gaja Kesari'.

For the fans of Yash it is `Kesari Bath'. In the time `Kesari Hava' with Narendra Modi BJP taking the helm of power of this nation, this `Gaja Kesari' is an enjoyable entertainer and sure Paisa Vasool cinema.

The five pillars like `Pancha Pandavaru' of this film are producer Jayanna and Bogendra who have invested hugely on the making of the film, Yash in his bash has given splendid performance, director Krishna showing precisely what are entertainment factors, V Harikrishna in giving entertaining songs and Sathya Hegde visual treat forms the main constituent of this commercial package. On the whole it is `Krishnavathara'!

The first half story line is refreshing and when the director Krishna goes back to 360 years ago - the historical period reminds a few popular films. Yet the making of that flash back portion is robust, perfect match for Kannada speaking people and holds your breath.

The highpoint of this talented cameraman turned director (we had seen choreographers turning directors) S Krishna is that for one hour he does not bring in the action from popular hero. He holds the interest from his screenplay.

The young lad running a finance unit Krishna (Yash) is born in Gajakesari Yoga. Soon after the birth his father had written a letter to Sri Shankaranarayana Math that his son will be `Sanyasi'.  Accordingly young Krishna is brought to math to take up the reigns of 29th pontiff. He does not agree for it. He is suggested that he will be set free once he comes on an elephant and donate it to the math.

Krishna with strong conviction goes to forest to pick an elephant. In the tribal colony he comes, terror mind Kalinga (Elephant) bows to him. This is surprising for the tribal as the trouble monger is silenced. This invokes the silent `Sadhu' who traces the history. Krishna is in rebirth has the potentiality to do well for the people. The flash opens to 360 years back. As a Senadhipathi how Krishna protected his land and people surface on the screen. This is chilling and absorbing portion of the film.

Back to normal Krishna he is supported by Kalinga an elephant to uproot the strength of fugitive in the forest. In the forest life Krishna traces Meera (Amoolya) an ornithologist and bowled over by her beauty.

For Yash image this is a perfectly measured box office film. Image building exercise has happened much for him in this film. He looks dam good and his image of `Rocking Star' continues. He rocks in dance and action portions. Yash as warrior and protector gets extra marks for stunning dialogues and performance.

For talented Amoolya it is a misfit role. The film is immersed in Yash as front runner. Ananthnag fits to the T in Swamiji role, Mandya Ramesh, Rangayana Raghu, Sadhu Kokila, Girija Lokesh all add up to the film.

Harikrishna for S Krishna debut film increases the strength with three haunting tunes. Sathya Hegde is sure to be competitor for his camera work in the awards. He is such a magnificent cameraman and gets all the visual presentation very appealing. The special effects added to this film deserve appreciation.

It is surely Krishnavathara, Yash is like `Arjuna' of the film. Go watch it.
