Gautham Menon to restart his pending project with new stars

Last year Gautham Menon had announced the Tamil remake of the super hit Telugu film 'Pelli Choopulu' directed by Senthil Veerasamy his former assistant. Vishnu Vishal and Tamannaah had signed on for the lead roles played by Vijay Devarakonda and Ritu Varma in the original. However as the project titled 'Pon Ondru Kandein' did not take off for a long time Vishnu Vishal announced that he is not part of it anymore.
In a recent interview Gautham Menon has shared the status of 'Pon Ondru Kandein' stating that when the project was budgeted it came up beyond the market value of the stars and that is the reason he put it on the back burner. He has also revealed that plans are on to restart the film with a fresh starcast soon.
Gautham Menon on the direction side has Vikram's 'Dhruva Natchathiram' and Dhanush's 'Enai Nokki Paayum Thotta' in various stages of production.
