‘Gauri’ Serial Actress Nandhini Commits Suicide

Nandhini (26), a rising young actress in the television industry, committed suicide by hanging in her PG (Paying Guest) room in Bengaluru. Originally from Andhra Pradesh, she began her career in the Kannada film industry and was emerging as a leading actress in Tamil television when she took this extreme step.

Nandhini was playing the lead role in the serial ‘Gauri’, which airs on Kalaignar TV. She won the hearts of Tamil audiences by playing the dual roles of Durga and Kanaka, two characters with distinct personalities. Her realistic acting earned her significant popularity in a very short time.

Nandhini was staying at a private hostel in the Kengeri area of Bengaluru. The day before yesterday, she returned to her room at night after meeting her boyfriend. When she subsequently stopped answering phone calls, her suspicious friends and the hostel manager broke open the door, only to find her deceased.

During the preliminary investigation, the police recovered a suicide note written by Nandhini. It revealed several heart-wrenching details.

Her parents had reportedly been pressuring her to get married, but she was not ready for it.

Career Conflict: Nandhini’s father, a government school teacher, passed away a few years ago. Her family had been insisting that she accept the government job offered to her on compassionate grounds. However, due to her passion for acting, she had been refusing it.

Mental Distress: In her letter, she mentioned that she had been under severe mental stress for the past few days due to family issues and work-related pressures.

In a chilling irony, just a few days before her death, a scene was filmed for the ‘Gauri’ serial where her character commits suicide by drinking poison. Her co-stars expressed their shock, stating they never expected a scene played on screen to turn into a reality in her personal life.

“She was always cheerful and a hard worker. We had no idea she was carrying such deep pain within her,” her fellow actors shared tearfully.
