Gautamiputra Satakarni
Balakrishna's milestone 100th film 'Gautamiputra Satakarni' is out to tell the legend of the Satavahana emperor. Shot at a break-neck speed in difficult locations across countries like Morocco, India (read Hyderabad and places in Madhya Pradesh) and Georgia, this one has music by Chirantan Bhatt of 'Kanche' fame.
The presence of Hema Malini (playing 'Rajamata' Gautami), Shriya Saran (as his wife), Kabir Bedi and the likes means the casting is picture perfect. Since Balayya himself has said that there wouldn't have been 'GPSK' but for Hema Malini, expect a dekko of a performance. Kannada superstar Shiv Rajkumar is playing the role of a Burra Katha exponent introducing Satakarni's character.
Sai Madhav Burra's dialogues have already raised the expectations.
Technicians who have worked for several Hollywood films have worked on this film. Lyrics are from Sirivennela Sitarama Sastry. The cinematography is by VS Gnanasekhar.
