Emotional Jagapathi Babu happy about 30 years of career

It has been 30 years since Jagapathi Babu entered the film industry. His accomplishment was celebrated by the team of 'Goodachari' on Monday.

Speaking on the occasion, the 56-year-old actor became emotional. "I am happy that my 30 years as an actor has been completed by 'Goodachari'. There was a time when I thought it's enough if I can act in a single movie at least," Jaggu Bhai began saying.

"It's Chiranjeevi garu who gave the clap to my first shot. It was a risky shot. After doing it, I told myself that a star was born. Only later did I realize that it was a flop star who was born that day. I had 10-12 flops for the next few years. Yet, if I have held myself for all these decades, it's because of the audience and the talented people I have worked with. It's they who have made me what I am today," he said.

"In 'Gayam', I didn't act. RGV took care of me. In 'Goodachari', I at least did some acting. When 'Legend' came to me, I was down. I thought my career was over. Incidentally, Anil Sunkara was part of that film and he is part of 'Goodachari', too," he said.

"Coming to 'Goodachari', this is the best evening today in my career. I don't socialize much. I thank team 'Goodachari' for felicitating me today. Although I have completed 30 years as an actor, nobody called me up and congratulated me. It's because I don't do it to others. I don't meet anybody, I don't socialize. I have no professional friends. I only have friends," he added.

"When Sesh chose me to offer 'Goodachari', he was not a star. He is a star today but he was not one then. The film is so good that I shouldn't have charged any remuneration to do my part. They have made this film with minimal resources. It's stupid to think that bigger the investment, greater the film will turn out to be. It's about soul, it's about perseverance. I am proud to have worked with a passionate team like this," Jaggu Bhai noted.
