Tamil Film Artistes Association has announced that all actors who are not a member of the association will be banned from working in Tamil films from August 15.

Nadigar Sangam is of the opinion that there is always a swarm of artistes coming from other places to work in Tamil films but they don’t bother to become a member of the association. The reason association feels is that most of the new comers do only a few films and leave and so they don’t respect the rules of the industry and bother to become a member.

There were warnings issued before but the Association was lenient on all those occasions. But this time they say they are serious and will ban them for sure from August 15.

There are many top actors working in Tamil films who are yet to become members.

The fast rising Oviya of ‘Kalavani’ fame is still not a member. But she is signing new films spree. Samantha of ‘Baana Kaathadi’ is also not a member. The new heart throb has already completed ‘Moscovin Kaveri’ which is ready for release.

Even an old hand like Genelia who has been in Kollywood for over five years is still a non-member. After ‘Sachin’ she returned to the top with ‘Santosh Subramaniam’ and is currently doing ‘Uthamaputhiran’ with Dhanush. Manisha Koirala who has done some high profile films with the super stars continue to work in Tamil without being a member. Manisha is the mother in law of Dhanush in ‘Maappillai’.

Hansika Motwani is another sensation who is turning a hot favourite in Tamil. Hansika has completed 'Maappillai' with Dhanush and will do ‘Velayudham’ with Vijay next.

Even Aishwarya Rai is not a member of Tamil Artistes association yet. At the ‘Endhiran’ audio launch function Radha Ravi openly asked the likes of Aishwarya Rai to become a member soon.

The Nadigar Sangam is actively collecting the details of the actors who are still not a member and plans to ban them from August 15.

It’s to be seen how seriously the artistes take this newest threat. They should not get the courage of Asin who smoothly sailed over the warnings of Nadigar Sangam by openly challenging the resolutions passed unanimously by the same association.
