The GHMC limits have now got a new set of speed limits for cars and other vehicles. In this section, we bring you the information in a nutshell:

Two-wheelers, buses, three-wheelers, goods vehicles:

Roads with dividers: 50 km/hr

Roads without dividers: 40 km/hr

Residential colonies: 30 km/hr

Cars:

Roads with dividers: 60 km/hr

Roads without dividers: 50 km/hr

Residential colonies: 30 km/hr

The new speed norms have been notified to remove any sort of confusion. Signages specifying speeding limits put up on roads will be removed by the GHMC in the near future.

Netizens haven't reacted to the norms favourably. They are of the view that the speed limits are arbitrary and impractical. "Who gets such ideas?" they are asking.
