Global rating site calls 'Baahubali-2' old-fashioned (also)

'Baahubali-2' may have created history, but a global rating site is not ready to eulogize it in toto. While listing the classic Indian film in its list of 'Best films off the radar', the site also says unflattering things about the magnum opus.

"The film plays like a shotgun wedding between 'Ben Hur' and 'Kung Fu Hustle', seasoned with bits of Shakespeare, Kurosawa, and Buster Keaton. In other words, it`s a blockbuster that is both gigantic and lighter than air," critic Tim Ryan writes.

"(A)nd it feels alternately old-fashioned and refreshingly bold," the writer further writes. Precisely the kind of balanced review that was waiting to be written, one feels.
