Goa chief-minister and former Union Defence Minister Manohar Parikker has been admitted to hospital in Mumbai after he took ill and complained of uneasiness. Sources from Goa state that the chief-minister might be air-lifted to U.S. for further treatment.

Parriker, who expressed his regret a few days back that it was a disappointing trend that more and more girls were taking to (the habit of drinking) beer, heads the BJP Government in Goa. He was admitted to a hospital some time back after he was diagnosed with infection in the lungs. He was discharged from the hospital but developed uneasiness soon after and was rushed to the Leelavati Hospital in Mumbai on the 15th of this month.

He is being treated for the disorder.  Some social networking sites, in the meantime, spread rumours that Parikker’s health had deteriorated and that he was in a serious condition. Deputy Speaker of Goa’s Legislative Assembly Michael Lobo has denied it and said that the chief-minister was recuperating fast thanks to timely and efficient treatment.

“If necessary, we might consider air-lifting the chief-minister to U.S. for further treatment based on the advice of doctors and the medical exigency,” Lobo told newsmen.

In view of chief-minister Parriker’s indisposition, Goa’s fiscal budget for the year 2018-19 may be tabled in the State Legislative Assembly by one of Parikker’s Ministerial colleagues.
