Good Samaritan Kamal Haasan

Padma Shri Kamal Haasan participated in an event organized for 'Hridayaragam', to announce details about organising a fund raiser to set up an orphanage for HIV AIDS affected children.

The event was organized by World Malayalee Council and the Madras Medical Mission, who are part of Hridayaragam since 2006, at Green Park hotel, Chennai. Speaking on the occasion Kamal thanked the media for their support in raising awareness about the causes that Hridayaragam has been supporting so far. He added saying that the funds collected from the event this year, will be used to set up an orphanage for HIV affected children, in Chennai.

The fund raiser will be held on 18th April, and will see participation of artists from both Tamil and Malayalam film industries. Kamal later released the first ticket of the event before which a letter of appreciation and a list of names of the 160 beneficiaries of free heart surgeries performed from the funds collected in 2006 and 2008 were presented to him.

The tickets for the event to be held at the Nehru Indoor Stadium on 18th April are priced at Rs 250, 500, 2000, 5000 and Rs 10,000.

VC Praveen, India Regional President of the World Malayalee Council and Dr Mullasari Ajith of the Madras Medical Mission spoke on the occasion.
