Gorintaku

Thursday, January 1, 1970 • తెలుగు Comments

Hero Rajashekar is now going through a lean patch. He is desperately looking for a big hit. His last few films didn't do well at the box office but his last film 'Evadaithe Naakenti' finally gave him the much needed hit and gave a fresh lease of life to his career in Tollywood.

Rajashekar is now acting in the film 'Gorintaku'. Incidentally the title is taken form a hit film 'Gorintaku' directed by Dasari Narayana Rao in the seventies. However, the coincidence ends there. The new film is completely different from Dasari's film.

Gorintaku has the chubby Aarthi Agarwal in the lead role. The talented and good looking Meera Jasmine is playing a prominent role in the film.

The shooting for the film commenced last year but the shooting got bogged for many reasons. The main reason for the delay was the sudden marriage of heroine Aarthi Agarwal. She got married to a US boy all of a sudden at the Arya Samaj in Hyderabad. This disrupted the shooting to a considerable extent.

Rajashekar is known to excel in action films and in roles as a cop. He is also known to hit it off very well with the audience films that are heavy on sentiment.

Gorinatku is one such film. The film is about the special bond between a loving brother and his doting sister. The film is actually a remake of the hit Kannada film 'Anna Thangi'. The Kannada film ran for well over 100 days.

Hero Akash is playing an important role in the film. The story of the Kannada film has been suitably modified to suit the sensibilities of the Telugu audiences.

VR Pratap, who debuted with the film 'Nuvvu Vasthaavani' is the director. RB Choudhary is presenter and Paras Jain and NV Prasad are producing the film on the Mega super Good Films banner.

Rajashekar plays a dual role in the film, that of a father and son. The father's role however is very brief and runs for just a few minutes. The son plays the role of a sugar baron.

There are seven songs in the film of which two have been shot at picturesque locations in New Zealand.  SA Rajkumar is the music director.

The story in the original goes like this - the hero loves his sister very much. His sister is married to a rich boy but he loses everything to his scheming brothers and is even jailed. The poor sister then comes to his brother's house for support and shelter.

As the brother is not at home at that time, the hero's wife and her mother humiliate her and throw her out of the home. What happens next forms the basis for the remaining part of the story?

The film has a heavy dose of sentiment and is aimed at the middle class audiences that are very emotional and attach great importance to things like family bonds and sentiment. Sivaji, Raja, Brahmaji, Surya, Hema and Chandramohan are among the star cast.
