Government's spelling twist to 'Gethu' controversy

We had reported earlier that Udhayanidhi Stalin had moved court regarding the state government's refusal to exempt his pongal release Gethu' from entertainment tax stating that the title was not a Tamil word.

The case again came up yesterday and the Government pleader put forth the explanation that Gethu' is not a Tamil word and further if the team had spelt it as Kethu' in English it was ok but since they spelt it as Gethu' it cannot be accepted !!!. The Director of Tamil Develpment Department has also confirmed in his petition that the title was not a Tamil word. The Judge then posted the case for the 29th of January.
