A 28 year old man in East Godavari district, Andhra Pradesh was tested positive for COVID-19 on July 23, just a few hours before getting married. This man was all set to marry his girlfriend from Villakaru village in the district on Saturday.

On Tuesday, the family of the groom and relatives had gathered to attend the event. The same evening, the groom complained of headache and fever. Soon, he was tested positive for novel coronavirus. Soon, the officials shifted the groom to a quarantine centre in Bommuluru.

Well, the officials say that the groom and family had gone to shopping at Rajahmundry and it is expected that from somewhere there, he could have got the virus.

They said over 30 to 40 people have visited the groom’s house in preparation for the wedding. They will have to undergo COVID-19 tests, they added. Meanwhile, the wedding was postponed and several other family members advised to stay under home quarantine.

Also, it is known that the number of positive cases being registered every day in Andhra Pradesh are in thousands and the numbers are doubling with each passing day, leaving the public in fear.
