GV Prakash Kumar is starring as the lead in the movie “Kingston,” set to release on March 7. He is also producing the film under his banner, Parallel Universe Pictures, in collaboration with Zee Studios. Directed by debutant Kamal Prakash, the film features Divyabharathi, Chetan, Azhagam Perumal, and Ilango Kumaravel in key roles.

According to GV Prakash, “This film is not a typical one; it promises a grand cinematic experience. It is similar to Hollywood movies like ‘Harry Potter’ and ‘Pirates of the Caribbean.’ While Hollywood films have huge budgets, we have created an entirely new world within our budget. The movie is full of surprises.”

He further adds, “It introduces a new genre to Indian cinema – an ocean-based horror story, which has never been attempted before. The film blends fantasy adventure with magical elements and offers a unique visual experience not seen in Indian films so far.”

The story begins in Thoothukudi, where a mysterious, cursed sea prevents fishing. The protagonist, a young man from the village, defies superstition and ventures into the forbidden waters, leading to an extraordinary journey. The film integrates local culture and mythology with magical elements.

Regarding sequels, he stated, “If audiences accept this cinematic world, we plan to create more sequels. High-quality graphics play a crucial role in making the visuals believable, and this film’s budget is four times that of a regular movie.”

GV Prakash has not only acted but also produced the movie. He emphasized that his production house was founded to create grand films like this, ensuring full creative freedom for the director. The film was shot in challenging sea conditions, including underwater sequences, with special training provided for the cast. It will release in Tamil, Telugu, and Hindi.
