GV Prakash's 'Rebel' makes OTT debut in two weeks, violating Kollywood guidelines?

The GV Prakash starrer 'Rebel' was released in theatres on March 22. This film, a rebellious action drama directed by Nikesh RS, opened to a decent response from the fans and audience. The surprising fact is that 'Rebel' started streaming on Amazon Prime Video today, upsetting the theatre owners.

Yes, the new film has arrived on OTT in no time. The digital debut of 'Rebel' came as a shock to the fans. On Saturday, the movie started streaming on Amazon Prime Video in Tamil, Telugu and Kannada. GV Prakash and Mamitha Baiju played the lead roles in 'Rebel' which revolves around the oppression faced by the Tamil students in Kerala colleges.

'Rebel' is a film based on a true story. It is worth mentioning that GV Prakash's new comedy adventure film 'Kalvan' was released on April 4 in theatres. This is one of the factors for the earlier OTT release of 'Rebel'. The movie produced by Studio Green also stars Venkitesh VP, Shalu Rahim, Karunas, Adhithya Baskar and others with music by GV Prakash.
