The Tamil Nadu government made an official announcement yesterday that standalone private gyms alone can be opened for customers below 50 years of age. This will be implemented effective from from August 10.

An official release from the Tamil Nadu Government said that a Standard Operating Procedure will be issued in this regard and the conditions must be strictly adhered by private gyms.

This decision from the State government comes after meetings with representatives of Tamil Nadu Gym Owners and Trainers Welfare Association and several gym owners, who had made requests to the Chief Minister to allow gyms to open. Ever since the lockdown implemented in the state due to Coronavirus pandemic, Private gyms have been closed across the State.
