When you think of actors in Kollywood who would fit almost any role that you can conceive of, only a handful come to your mind. And no doubt there’s Jayam Ravi in it. He’s done it all from a villainous don, straightforward police officer, chocolate boy, underdog to glory- we’ve seen him as everything. As the actor turns a year older today, we wish him many more happy returns of the day!

From his earlier days of ‘Jayam’, ‘M Kumaran Son of Mahalakshmi’ to his latest ‘Tik Tik Tik’ we have seen his sincerity and earnestness to bring justice to his roles. We could and will never get to complain that he didn’t try his best for any single movie. And that is one reason why Jayam Ravi has been able to strike an illustrious career while many fall down from the heights of their success.

While we adored him as the guy who got stuck between his father and dreams in ‘Santhosh Subramaniam’, he brought out a different facet of acting through socially impactful films such as ‘Peranmai’, ‘Nimirndhu Nil’ and even ‘Thani Oruvan’ as well. One has to admit that ‘Thani Oruvan’ well might be the defining moment of transition in his career when his mass appeal strengthened.

And speaking about unconventional choices, we should remember his ‘Booloham’ and his experimental ‘Miruthan’ which was a zombie film. Imagine any other actor of such stature in a zombie film. Yes, you’re finding it tough to think other than Ravi who fits like a glove in the character. This adaptability and adjustment to the stories he chooses will definitely help him go a long long way in movies.

We have multiple projects to look forward from Ravi. ‘Adanga Maru’ which deals with sexual harassment, ‘Sanghamithra’ an epic period drama from director Sundar C and of course the actor recently confirmed ‘Thani Oruvan 2’ as well. Isn’t that sweet now!

Well, we take this opportunity to wish the actor a happy birthday and a prosperous career once again!
