Happy Birthday Kajol

The consistently versatile Kajol enters in the 40’s club today. Born to actress Tanuja and film director Shomu Mukherjee on 5th August 1974 Kajol has the unique distinction of receiving six Filmfare Awards from eleven nominations, and along with her late aunt Nutan, holds the record for most Best Actress wins at Filmfare, with five.

The Karan Johar’s lucky mascot has worked with SRK in six films (Baazigar, Karan Arjun, DDLJ, KKHH,KKKG and My Name Is Khan) and is considered amongst b-town’s one of most spontaneous talent.

Apart from proving her mettle in Bollywood Kajol has a heart for the needy and is associated with social causes for the betterment of the society. Kajol is the international goodwill ambassador and patron of The Loomba Trust, a charity organisation devoted to supporting widows and their children around the world, particularly in India. Is also the brand ambassador of Pratham, a charity organisation for children. In 2006, Kajol was one of the four Bollywood actors, alongside Priyanka Chopra, Hrithik Roshan and Shahrukh Khan, whose miniature dolls were launched in the United Kingdom, under the name of Bollywood Legends.

The actress who is making her comeback under her husband Ajay Devgn’s banner untitled venture where she will seen in the role of a mafia mom is the Bollywood adaptation of Dutch series `Penoza`.

Kajol is also active in the cause for children education.
