Happy Birthday Shruti Haasan: 5 B-Town movies that she rocked in

The beautiful and stunning Shruti Haasan turns 30 today. She does not only rock Bollywood with her movies and looks, but also is a famous South star. Shruti comes from a family that already rules the Indian cinema since ages, she is the elder daughter of actors Kamal Haasan and Sarika. Her younger sister Akshara also made her Bollywood debut in Shamitabh' last year.

Shruti made her debut with Bollywood film 'Luck' opposite Imran Khan in 2009. The film failed to create ripples at the box office, but Shruti's rose high to stardom instantly. She also sang the film's title track Aazma Luck that was composed by Salim-Sulaiman.

Shruti bounced back with 'Ramaiya Vastavaiya' opposite actor Girish Kumar in 2013. It was a remake of the Telugu movie 'Nuvvostanante Nenoddantana' and also remade into Tamil as 'Something Something... Unakkum Enakkum'. This movie was directed by choreographer Prabhudheva and produced by Kumar S. Taurani under Tips. This movie didn't do well at the box office, but Shruti no where lost her charm from the audience.

In the year 2013, Shruti had done two back to back movies, after 'Ramaiya Vastavaiya' she was also seen in 'D-Day'. This movie was an action spy film co-produced by DAR motion pictures and Emmay Entertainment Private Limited. The movie was directed by Nikhil Advani and it featured actor Arjun Rampal, Huma Qureshi, Irrfan Khan and Rishi Kapoor in the lead. The film also received highly positive reviews from all over.

Last year 2015, Shruti was again seen in two hit movie of the year. Firstly with, 'Gabbar is Back' which is an action-drama film that was directed by Krish and produced by Sanjay Leela Bhansali and Viacom 18 Motion Pictures. The movie featured Akshay Kumar and Shruti Haasan in the lead roles, this movie was also critically praised.

Shruti was last seen in the movie 'Welcome Back' that did not only do well at the box office, but also brought Shruti back into the industry after a long wait. This was an action comedy film directed by Anees Bazmee and produced by Firoz Nadiadwala. The movie featured Anil Kapoor, Nana Patekar, John Abraham, Shruti Haasan, Paresh Rawal, Dimple Kapadia and Naseeruddin Shah in the lead.
