May 27, 2025 Published by indiaglitzcom

In a major blow to the upcoming Pan-India film Kannappa, the hard disk containing crucial scenes and graphics has reportedly gone missing, prompting the film’s crew to file a police complaint. The incident has sparked concerns reminiscent of the controversy surrounding Lal Salaam, where missing footage was rumored to have impacted the final release.

Kannappa, based on the legendary devotee of Lord Shiva, features Vishnu Manchu in the lead role. The cast also includes Madhu Sarathkumar, Preethi Mukundan, Rahul Ramakrishna, Mohan Babu, and Brahmanandam. Adding star power, Mohanlal, Prabhas, Akshay Kumar, and Kajal Aggarwal appear in cameo roles.

Originally scheduled for release on June 27 in Tamil, Telugu, Hindi, Kannada, and English, the film is now facing uncertainty after a hard disk containing vital visual sequences was lost in transit. According to the crew, the disk was sent via courier from a studio in Mumbai.

The parcel was allegedly received by a man named Raghu, who then handed it over to a woman identified as Saritha. Both individuals are reportedly missing, and police are investigating the matter following a complaint filed by the production team.

The filmmakers suspect deliberate foul play, noting in their complaint:

“It appears this act was carried out intentionally to disrupt the film’s release.”

With only weeks to go before the scheduled release, the disappearance of key content has left the production team racing against time. The incident has sent shockwaves through the industry, especially considering the high-profile cast and wide-scale anticipation surrounding Kannappa.
