Mari Selvarajs bday post to Fahadh Faasil reveals how his Maamannan villain was created

Fahadh Faasil, the son of legendary Malayalam director Faasil has grown out of the shadow of his father to carve a niche for himself in the pan Indian cinema. Fahadh has has so far only acted in four Tamil movies namely 'Velaikaran' costarring Sivakarthikeyan, 'Super Deluxe' costarring Vijay Sethupathi, 'Vikram' costarring Kamal Haasan and 'Maamannan' co- starring Vadivelu. However he is celebrated by the Tamil audience on par or even more than the Malayalam counterparts.

Fahadh's villainous character Rathnavelu in 'Maamannan' was so well received that he is trending high across social media platforms. Today, Fahadh turns 41 and celebrities and fans from all over South India are posting their wishes to him.

Mari Selvaraj has gushed about his association with Fahadh and has also revealed the input he gave the astounding performer for Rathnavelu and how the superstar executed it. The rough translation from Tamil is as follows

Hi Fahadh Sir!!!

I like both your eyes so much that I created my Ratnavel character focussing on them. I told you, firmly believe that the way of life that has been taught for many generations is right and express it in one eye. In the other eye, I said, put the aggression you feel towards questions raised by the new generations contradicting that way of life.

You perfectly traveled throughout my film carrying those consummate feelings in both your eyes. Finally I told you to close both eyes and you did without asking why. I have echoed the voice of Dr. Ambedkar in your chest. That's all I am saying with great ecstasy that moment when you came running and hugged me. Happy birthday Fahadh sir"

Fahadh upcoming pan Indian movie is 'Pushpa The Rule' directed by Sukumar and costarring Allu Arjun and Rashmika Mandanna in which he reprises his role of Bhanwar Singh Shekhawat the wily cop. His next Malayalam movie is 'Hanuman Gear' in which he is playing a powerful lead character.
