Hebbuli Review
Cast:
Sudeep, V. Ravichandran, Amala Paul, P. Ravi Shankar, Kabir Duhan Singh, Ravi Kishan
Direction:
S. Krishna
Production:
Raghunath, Umapathy Srinivas

S Krishna knows the trick of the trade of a commercial cinema. He has not followed the formula but sets new standards with great support he got from producers, artists and technicians. There are quite a few action feasts for front benchers, for family audience Kichccha Sudeep makes you collect tears from his performance. A film like ‘Hebbuli’ touching upon the ‘Generic Medicine’ that is very essential to the common people today deserves applaud. This is a film with purpose. The grand entry and equally grand end for the film is well driven in 141 minutes ‘Hebbuli’. Yet the bloody hits from heavy weapons on Captain Ram by Ravi Kishan and Ravishanker and the hero coming up again could have got an alternative thought.

The technical advancement applied to the film, a dose of patriotism, social relevance, the most prominent topic that is applicable to the whole country,  superb locations, costumes, makeup, editing, well written dialogues, cool and composed handling in family matters, no confusions in narration makes this film ‘Hebbuli’ even more a better watch.

This U/A certified film ‘Hebbuli’ takes off with a surgical strike to save the hostages by Captain Ram and team. For killing the terrorist leader Captain Ram is taken to task. He says, he is ready to face inquiry. Back home he finds his brother – everything to him in life DC Sathyamurthy is declared dead. It is a suicide drama what makes this intelligent commander of Indian Army very sick of things going on. He finds his intelligent way and declares it is not a case of suicide but murder. As the investigation in to this issue takes serious turn, audience come to know that the ‘Generic Medicine’ proposal of DC Sathyamurthy and pharmaceutical lobby at loggerheads. DC Sathyamurthy comes forward to convene all IAS officers meeting to promote very nominal price medicine for masses and this is what irksome for opponents. DC Sathyamurthy is killed and declared that he has committed suicide in police records.

Captain Ram takes on the baddies and how he books the heavy weight criminals is via heavy fight at the climax. The beatings what Captain Ram takes could have been altered to look more logical. Otherwise S Krishna is superb in his work.

Kichcha Sudeep has given a right commercial film for his fans. At the same time the emotions through his acting is immaculate. Especially when he console child actor Ritu, we find the controlled emotion in him. Action is a feast and investigating pattern is what keeps the audience glued to the seats. The new hair style for Sudeep looks very trendy. The dialogues written for his portion, the modulation he has made outshines everyone on the film.

Amala Paul has quite a lengthy role in this hero oriented cinema. She is impressive in dancing moments.

It is a perfectly positioned role for V Ravichandran, crazy star of Kannada cinema. The propagator of Generic Medicine and his concern – V Ravichandran has shown height of his growth in acting. Ravishanker is kicking to the front benchers but not Ravi Kishan. Ravi Kaale is very impressive in two scenes. Rajiv as co actor gives his best.

The title song, two duets from Arjun Janya plus the naughty song shot on V Ravichandran and Sudeep in a party are good blend of melody and force required for Sudeep film. Karunakar is another attractive technician of this film. His variety of angles in camera deserve applaud.

This is a marvelous treat from producer Raghunath and Umapathy. The support of producers for a film with good cause and commercial intersperse is the right mode of film for audience today.

This is definitely watchable film for family and fans.
