‘Hera Pheri’ is a Hindi comedy film directed by Priyadarshan, starring Akshay Kumar, Sunil Shetty, and Paresh Rawal. It is a remake of the Malayalam film 'Ramji Rao Speaking' and became a huge success in Hindi. Following its popularity, a sequel titled 'Phir Hera Pheri' was released with the same lead actors and directed by Neeraj Vora. This second part was also a commercial hit.
Plans were made to create a third installment in the series. Akshay Kumar was set to produce it, while Priyadarshan would return as the director. Akshay Kumar, Sunil Shetty, and Paresh Rawal had all agreed to reprise their roles. However, Paresh Rawal unexpectedly withdrew from the project. This caused delays in the shooting of the film.
Due to the complications caused by his sudden exit, Akshay Kumar, through his production company, has reportedly sent a legal notice to Paresh Rawal demanding Rs. 25 crore in damages for violating the agreement. Meanwhile, Paresh Rawal was recently seen in the Tamil film ‘Soorarai Pottru’ alongside actor Suriya.
