Fan wars are taking new shapes these days. They are no longer limited to intra-industry skirmishes. We are now witnessing inter-industry action!

Since Tuesday afternoon, the Twitter universe has been abuzz with online trolling of Mahesh Babu by Tamil superstar Vijay's fans and of Vijay by the 'Sarileru Neekevvaru' actor's fans.

It all began with a section of social media users comparing the performance of Vijay in 'Gilli' and 'Pokkiri' with that of Mahesh in 'Okkadu' and 'Pokiri'. The first set of Tamil movies were remakes of the latter set of Telugu movies. Fans started posting stills from similar scenes of these movies and compared the performative skills of the two. It eventually went out of control and there began fan wars.
