Hockey wil regain its past glory now: Pawan Kalyan

Actor-politician Pawan Kalyan today issued a statement raising a toast to the Indian Hockey team for clinching the Bronze at the Tokyo Olympics. The 'Vakeel Saab' actor said that Indians had waited for 4 decades for a medal from the hockey team at the Olympics.

Furthermore, the Jana Sena chief said that the national game will regain its past glory. "I wish the team continues with the same spirit and records some more victories in the future. The fighting spirit of our players will not only infuse enthusiasm among the youth but also improve interest in sports. The medals they achieved are quite encouraging," Power Star said.

He also made a mention of the weightlifter Meerabai Chanu, shuttler PV Sindhu, boxer Lovlina Borgohain in his official statement.

The women's hockey team will come with flying colours, Pawan added, expressing hope. He added that the Centre has done the right thing by inviting the sports teams for the Independence Day celebrations. "The invitation will encourage the players enormously," Pawan added.

The actor is currently shooting for 'Bheemla Nayak' in Hyderabad. Directed by Saagar K Chandra, it will hit the screens on 12 January 2022.
