Home Ministry allows these activities from April 20

There will be relaxations from April 20 across the country. Although the lockdown will end only on May 3, exemptions have been made in certain areas in order to kickstart the economic activity.

The Union Home Ministry has on Wednesday issued new guidelines regarding the same. "Agricultural and related activities will resume fully," it said. This is meant to generate jobs for daily wagers and others.

"Industries operating in rural areas will be allowed to function with strict social distancing norms in place," it adds.

Here are more:

The inter-state transport of goods, essential and non-essential items, will be allowed.

Dhabas on highways, truck repair shops and call centres for government activities will reopen.

Manufacturing units of pharmaceuticals, medical equipment, among others, will reopen.

Food processing industries, road construction, irrigation projects, etc. will be allowed.

Works under the MNREGA scheme will be allowed.

Some industrial activity will be kickstarted, besides coal, mineral and oil production.

Since liquidity and credit extension are crucial, the government has allowed the operation of the financial system at several levels.

Restrictions on milk, milk products, poultry and livestock farming, plantations like rubber have been lifted.

E-commerce, IT, IT-enabled services, data and call centres for government activities, etc. will be allowed.

The above are the most important relaxations. The list includes others.
