Tamil superstars and most other actors revere Nadigar Thilagam Sivaji Ganesan who has inspired them with his impeccable acting skills. Similarly the heroines always take references from Nadigiar Thilagam Savithri who is considered on par with Sivaji.
Director Nag Ashwin is making a biopic on the life and work of Savithri who died tragically in spite of her celebrated career. The highly talented modern day actress Nithya Menen has been signed on to play the much coveted lead role in the Tamil/Telugu bilingual. The film has been titled Mahanati' which means great actress in Telugu and was a given title for Savithri in her films. The rest of the cast and crew details will be available soon.
