How to Train your dragon 3: A fitting conclusion

The expectation a sequel sets is far more than its predecessors, we have seen that not just in Harry Potter, Fast and furious, but in our very own Indian movies too - Bahubali, Singham and so on. How to train your dragon 3 is the last and third in the franchise, coming back to revive the jolly good days of Hiccup and Toothless in yet another adventure. HTTYD3 shines in parts, probably as it misses the suspense and initial emotion from the first part. But still its safe to say that the movie is a safe bet for a fitting conclusion.

While the story of the trilogy takes place in the span of six years, for audiences it's been nine years since the first How To Train Your Dragon came out. Like with Harry Potter or Toy Story, audiences have grown up watching Hiccup (Jay Baruchel) and Toothless for almost a decade, and the characters have come of age with us. Just as the wizarding world and the talking-toy world, The Hidden World teaches us that all things must come to a bittersweet end. While Chief Hiccup and his friends continue to conduct dragon rescue raids, the cheerful village of Berk has become over-full. When they come under new attack from a self-proclaimed dragon killer named Grimmel, Hiccup realizes they must run away for good. He and his dragon-chief Toothless must lead their communities to a safe new home, and Hiccup has his hopes set on The Hidden World, a Utopia (heaven) for dragons. Meanwhile Hiccup and Astrid are considering marriage, and Toothless has also found a mate for life, and so wrestles with adjusting his loyalties. What will they each discover, and can they bravely let go?

Toothless is thought to be the last of his kind. Until that day — when Toothless discovers that he's not. He spots her in a lush forest clearing, all white and sparkly. Hiccup and his girlfriend, Astrid, promptly dub her a "Light Fury." And she has no interest in settling down. But this lithe new lizard isn't the only one with a sudden interest in Toothless. Some distance away, dragon-napping warlords have cut a deal with Grimmel, the world's most notorious dragon killer. He's the reason why Toothless is the last Night Fury: Grimmel personally slaughtered the rest. And now that Grimmel has learned one such dragon escaped his icy grasp, he means to correct his oversight.

This movie wasn't as wondrous as the first, nor was its action as gripping as the second, but what it did provide was a satisfying ending that left the audience feeling both optimistic and gutted. It was not a fairy-tale ending, but it was one that felt honest and helps its audience understand what exactly it means to let go. If you have been a big fan of the franchise, the movie's ending will surely leave you with a teary eye. Bidding adieu to Toothless and Hiccup, whom each one of us could relate to in our life times as the struggle growing up is a something we are sure to miss.

Verdict : The 3D experience is awe-inspiring, as always the CGI nose dives into an immersive experience and boy is it fun. Overall, HTTYD3 is a classic way to say good bye to one of the finest animations produced.
