Actress Reema Lagoo is no more

Veteran Bollywood actress Reema Lagoo passed away in Mumbai following a cardiac arrest early on Thursday morning, a family source said.

The 59-year-old Marathi TV and stage actress breathed her last at a private hospital where she was rushed shortly after midnight.

The actor was famous for playing the 'mother' in both movies and television. Her most popular movies were 'Hum Aapke Hain Kaun', 'Hum Saath Saath Hain', 'Maine Pyar Kiya' and 'Kal Ho Na Ho'. 'Shrimaan Shrimati' and 'Tu Tu Main Main' were among her popular TV serials.

Though she has not acted in any direct Tamil film, she is a well known celebrity among Tamil Television audience of the 1990s. Some of the popular Hindi serials telecast n the Doordarshan channel were also dubbed in Tamil and telecast in Doordashan's Tamil channel. 'Thiruvalar Thirumathi' ('Shrimaan Shrimati') and 'Neeya Naana' ('Tu Tu Main Main') are a few quite popular serials she has acted in. .

She was working on TV serial 'Naamkaran' which is being telecast in a popular private satellite channel.
