Hyderabad floods: Restrictions imposed as Musi river overflows

With 13 of the 17 gates of the Himayatsagar reservoir lifted, the Musi river in Hyderabad is now overflowing like anything. This is in total contrast to the situation that prevailed just two days ago.
Authorities have made nearby roads go slow in terms of traffic. Restrictions have been placed on vehicular and human movement. There are fears that Musi floods will wash away the roads.
Areas such as Kismatpur, Bandlaguda, Hyderguda and Langar Houz have been warned about possible flooding.
Several people were spotted at the 17 bridges over the Musi river to catch a glimpse of the brimming river. The police department is doing its best to shoo them away to avoid any eventualities.
