I didn't expect a call back from Bhatts - Amrita on 'Blood Money'

After playing a second lead in 'Aisha', petite Amrita Puri would now be seen as a main lead in 'Blood Money' that provides her a platform to go solo along with Kunal Khemu. However the story goes that to begin with, she wasn't too sure about stepping into this film coming from the house of Bhatts. Reason being that Bhatts expect a liberal dose of skin show from their leading ladies and Amrita was certainly not game for it.

I wasn't sure but when I was told that I had to play a simple girl, I thought of giving it a shot, she smiles, I said to myself - 'What’s the harm in auditioning at the least'. I went there and gave the audition where I was required to do a really dramatic scene and then break down. Once done, I came back home without expecting any call from them. However to my pleasant surprise I heard from them the very next day and was signed there and then. I was told that (director) Vishal Mahadkar had really liked my look and felt that I suited the character. It all happened so fast as things progressed from audition to signing.

However post the making of the film, Amrita has slowed down again and taking it easy when it comes to signing a new film. Let 'Blood Money' get released first. Post the reactions that come my way, I will sign another film, she smiles.

'Blood Money' releases all over on 30th March.
